When a small group of far-sighted men from the tiny Clarke County Community of Quitman crowded around a desk in March 1902 and watched Mississippi Governor A. H. Longino place his signature on an historic Charter of Incorporation We honor our past, and we are continually motivated by the achievement of the present. But, it is the future where the most exciting, the most far reaching history of Great Southern Bank remains to be written. Creating the Bank of Quitman, the idea of a Great Southern Bank system with 13 offices serving a seven county area of east central and south Mississippi was not even a dream.
