Kentland Federal Savings and Loan Association

Kentland Federal Savings & Loan is located in the same building that it was founded in a century ago, and is still run by the same family. CEO James A. Sammons is the fourth generation of that family to run the financial institution following the footsteps of Hume Sammons, George Sammons, and James E. Sammons. Hume believed in action and growing a strong community. In addition to being an attorney, postmaster, and school board president, he founded the bank with similar-minded townspeople.

Kentland operates with a sense of pride that they have helped their community by providing sensible financial instruments critical to financial independence. They help people acquire their first real estate mortgages and offer savings accounts and certificates of deposit. It's local money, serving local people. All of the investments are helping residents purchase homes. For a visual, just think about George Bailey in the movie, "It's A Wonderful Life". Doing good in a community is a two-way street; they live by community values and encourage others to do the same.

People tend to think bigger is better, which is not always the case. With $3 million in assets, Kentland Federal Savings and Loan is the smallest bank in America. They have been blessed to impact uncountable lives over the years and plan to grow through the same morals, values, and ethics passed along from generation to generation.
